Preseli MP Stephen Crabb has congratulated a well-respected and long-standing Pembrokeshire business who are celebrating their 40th year of trading.
Manderwood Timber Engineering, based in Honeyborough but with depots in Port Talbot and Somerset, supply timber trusses and frames across Wales and South West England.
Manderwood have also been excellent supporters of grassroots football, as current and long term sponsors of the senior Pembrokeshire football leagues and local side Hakin United.
Recent data from the Football Association of Wales has shown that participation of boys and girls in Pembrokeshire has risen considerably over the past 12 months.
Stephen Crabb was given a tour of the Manderwood factory by Director Chris Tansey and saw first-hand how to trusses and frames are constructed.
Speaking following the visit, the Preseli Pembrokeshire MP said: “I was delighted to join Chris to discuss the business and to see the factory at work. Manderwood is an outstanding example of a homegrown Pembrokeshire business which has gone from strength to strength over the years. Local firms often face a tough job competing against national outfits but Manderwood has shown that quality of product and service is a recipe for success.”
“It's thanks to the support and generosity of local businesses such as Manderwood that the Pembrokeshire football leagues are doing so well at this time. The latest figures from the Football Association of Wales show that participation across the age groups in our County is increasing steadily.”
