Speculation over the reinstatement of the State Pension Triple lock has surfaced in recent days.
Mr Crabb has consistently made the point that a full uprating in line with inflation would be necessary alongside other support measures. Yesterday he spoke out on this specific issue, urging the Government to commit to the reintroduction of the Triple Lock.
During Question Time today, Prime Minister Truss confirmed that the Government would be reinstating the Triple Lock Pension in April 2023.
Following this announcement, Mr Crabb commented:
“I am pleased to see the Government make the right decision in maintaining the triple lock which has been confirmed today. Many of my elderly constituents rely on the state pension as their only source of income and maintaining the value of the state pension during the cost of living crisis is essential.”
