Preseli Pembrokeshire MP Stephen Crabb recently visited a North Pembrokeshire manufacturer to hear how it is being affected by current economic uncertainties.
Mr Crabb was encouraged to hear that St Davids Assemblies Ltd in St Davids, which make electro-mechanical thermo protectors, connectors as well as a range of injection mouldings and precision pressings, are in the process of recruiting further staff due to an increase in production.
The local MP was given a tour of the factory by General Manager Glen Wells who explained that since the Brexit vote and the fall in the value of the Pound, orders have increased.
Mr Crabb said: “Despite some of the fears we’ve heard regarding the effect of Brexit on businesses in the UK, St Davids Assemblies have shown that even in rural West Wales, a company is able to not only survive but thrive, exporting goods all across the world. “
“This business has been in St Davids for over 60 years and that is testament to the hard work and dedication of its staff.”
Glen Wells said: “I’m really pleased that the factory in St Davids was visited by Mr Crabb at a time of rapid growth. It can only help raise our profile and enable us to move forward when recruiting staff from the surrounding areas.
“He has been a long-time supporter of St Davids Assemblies Ltd and we would like to thank him for his time and effort.”
