ST DAVID’S Day was slightly more special for three Pembrokeshire residents, as they were welcomed to Number 10, Downing Street for a reception with Prime Minister, Theresa May.
Invited by local MP Stephen Crabb, Olympian Jasmine Joyce, Puffin Produce Managing Director Huw Thomas and The VC Gallery’s Barry John MBE attended the St David’s Day reception.
The guests were treated to the finest Welsh food and drink before being entertained by Welsh choir, Côr Heol y March. There was an added Pembrokeshire touch as daffodils from Blas y Tir, Haverfordwest were brought in and adorned the Prime Minister’s residence.
Stephen Crabb MP said: “I was delighted to be able to invite my three guests along to the St David’s Day reception. All three of my guests showcase all that is great and good about Wales and Pembrokeshire.”
Prime Minister Theresa May said at the event: “I am pleased to be celebrating St David’s Day with a reception in Downing Street.
“Our precious Union is at the heart of everything my government does, which is why Wales was one of the first places I visited when I became Prime Minister.
“And, today, as the Welsh flag flies high alongside the Union flag over Downing Street, we are reminded of the huge part Wales has played in our history and the crucial role it will play in the future prosperity of the UK.
“I wish you all a very happy St David’s Day.”
