Preseli Pembrokeshire’s MP and AM, Stephen Crabb and Paul Davies recently held a round table of business leaders in an effort to find out what issues currently are affecting local businesses.
Over 20 major employers from all sectors of the economy were represented, including tourism, engineering, manufacturing and digital technology, along with Pembrokeshire County Council and Milford Haven Port Authority.
The event allowed the home-grown businesses to speak directly to their elected representatives, encouraging an open discussion on what Pembrokeshire needs to thrive in the future.
Member of Parliament Stephen Crabb said: “Our aim is to galvanise a stronger Pembrokeshire business voice towards all tiers of government and to agree an agenda for action that will inform our work in Parliament, in the Welsh Assembly and locally.
“The suggestion for this roundtable was put to me by a number of local employers who care deeply about the future of our County.
“Hearing from businesses first-hand their views, concerns and successes has been hugely beneficial.”
Paul Davies AM said: “I found it extremely useful to listen to the views expressed at the recent Business Leaders Event. We are very lucky in Pembrokeshire to have many fantastic business success stories who have greatly expanded their companies and employ significant numbers of people which hugely benefits the local economy.
“Everyone who attended the event had a shared ambition of seeing Pembrokeshire continue to move forward. It is vital that Governments at all levels helps wherever it can to facilitate this. Naturally, I will do what I can to take forward the issues raised at the meeting in order to benefit Pembrokeshire and its economy.”
