Maintaining high quality health services in Pembrokeshire is one of the biggest local concerns. The Welsh Assembly is now responsible for most aspects of health policy in Wales so Stephen works in close partnership with the local AMs to defend and improve our local health services.
Stephen was prominent in the campaign to save Withybush Hospital in 2006 when proposals were put forward to downgrade or close the hospital. Since then, he has continued to meet with the local Health Board, Community Health Council and with staff and consultants at Withybush to ensure that no cuts are made to services ‘by the back door’.
